Subject: Prohibited Areas for Military Exercise in Bohai, Yellow Sea, East Sea and South Sea of China from Late August to the End of September, 2020
(Please note that this is an updated version of our circular No. 2010 adding the most recent notice published by Zhejiang MSA regarding military exercise in East sea.)
Recently, China MSA published several navigational warnings for the military exercise to be carried out in late August, in which live firing will be involved. The areas involved are forbidden to enter. A brief sketch is shown below:
Details of these areas are as follows:
1. Published by Hebei Tangshan MSA for Bohai area under MSA Notice No. Ji Hang Jing 0223
Prohibited area: fan-shaped, base point: 39-24-35N 119-13-44E, radius: 25km, vertex point: 39-24-14N 119-28-24E and 39-13-13N 119-11-51E
Time: Fromm 231600UTC August to 301600UTC September, 2020
2. Published by Liaoning Dalian MSA for Bohai and Bohai Strait under MSA Notice No. LN0153
Prohibited area: the area bounded by the lines joining:
(1) 38°35′30″N 121°30′00″E
(2) 38°40′00″N 121°30′00″E
(3) 38°41′00″N 121°05′00″E
(4) 38°53′30″N 121°05′00″E
(5) 38°53′30″N 120°19′00″E
(6) 38°31′00″N 120°19′00″E
(7) 38°20′30″N 120°17′00″E
(8) 37°45′30″N 119°54′00″E
(9) 37°40′30″N 120°03′30″E

4. Published by Shandong Qingdao MSA under MSA Notice No. SD0284 and Lianyungang MSA under MSA Notice No. LYG 0042 for yellow sea area
Prohibited Area: the area bounded by the lines joining:
(1) 35-55N/119-55E;
(2) 35-55N/123-00E;
(3) 34-30N/123-00E；
(4) 34-30N/120-40E；
(5) 35-30N/119-55E.

5. Published by Zhejiang MSA for east sea area under MSA Notice No. ZHJ0610.
Prohibited area: the area bounded by the lines joining:
（1）29°35′30″N、122°54′00″E；
（2）29°35′30″N、123°18′00″E；
（3）29°57′30″N、123°18′00″E；
（4）29°57′30″N、123°55′00″E；
（5）29°06′30″N、123°55′00″E；
（6）29°06′30″N、122°54′00″E。

6. Published by Guangdong MSA for south sea area under MSA Notice No. GD0172
Prohibited area: the area bounded by the lines joining:
(1) 22-55-00N 116-30-40E;
(2) 22-41-30N 116-48-10E;
(3) 22-07-00N 116-19-00E;
(4) 22-21-30N 115-59-50E.
Vessels shall pass 5nm outside the area.
